that sounds low to me, might be your problem, no idea but my friend's oil pressure is 25 idle and 65 WOT. he has tight clearences though. (hot oil pressure and castrol 10w-40) btw EDIT: forgot to mention, a blown head gasket that causes coolant to leak into the block would definitely cause...

i can indent my fingernail into it but that's all. I recall someone saying it "had a nylon pad" so that's why I was worried.

I just bought a timing chain tensioner from ta performance and the pad is rubber, not nylon like i would think. I have a couple of used ones laying around and they all feel hard like nylon. Does the oil degrade the rubber turning them hard, or are they all hard when new? I'm rebuilding my engine...

Can anyone tell me the clearance needed between the oil pump gear shaft and the hole it rides in? the hole is too small to get the shaft through so i need to have it machined bigger. Please reply quick because i need to have this done in 5 hours!!! :D thanks

They do, but it seems that the bearing just left an imprint on the back. And you cant clean it off either. Otherwise i cant find any numbers

Did GM put different sized bearings on their motor from factory? :confused: My 1st and 3rd main bearings (just the top halfs) seem to be .001 undersize? or is that 001 on the bearing just for fun :biggrin:
