As the engine is turning over does the security lamp stay on or flashes? Some pass lock systems disables the fuel pump by limiting the amount of voltage to the fuel pump. This could make you think the fuel pump has failed.

I can't remember if the largest bore size was with manual or power brakes. Just ask the parts department witch cylinder has the largest bore.

Try looking on the vacuum label under the hood. You are having a vacuum problem. You need to trace the vacuum from the engine to the firewall.
