    A well built 4L60 can take 600hp pretty well, but not for long. If you were to go above that, stick with the 2004R.     Quick 4L80 question....

    Point taken.... but this isn't going to be a track only car, therefore i don't want to drive down the road at 60-70mph buzzing at 2500-3k rpm. Built TH400 + GV overdrive unit + custom DS + any other wiring/bracing and such would come out well over that $2895. The GV is $2200 alone. Not sure...

Lately i've seen the f-body guys start to use this trans a lot more since there are now crossmembers out there that allow the 4l80 to be used in the 4th gen f-body.     Bolt-on upgrade turbo...

    I loved the TA49, spooled almost exactly like the stocker even with the stock converter. Upgrading the injectors is a very good idea too. BTW, if you're looking to go beyond a stock setup I have mine and the injectors for sale if interested. :)

    Put down an LS1 Z with my stock 93 Cobra (GN is down for maintenance)

    As a side note, isn't the fox about 500-600lbs lighter than the f-body? It seems as though 100lbs and 10hp account for about the same ET differences in the quarter. Just something to think about.
