for those who saw my last thread, i shelved the SOHC 16v, in favor of finding a twin cam 16v (a LOT more flow, and a LOT more aftermarket), and have come up with another idea...
a guy i know has a .83 exhaust housing off a turbo off a turbo buick (carbed).
i'm thinking because the gn turbo...
oops, the omni is going to be a 2.5 (from a 2.2) and instead of a factory 8v, there is going to be a 16v.
stock turbo is a garrett t3 .42/.48, but the engine handles a t3 with .60/.63 specs without sweating, and that is on a stock 8v head.
okay, this may sound odd, but i am working on a GLH clone.
first things first, the stock 8v head is being replaced with a 16v unit from a neon. this head will flow INCREDIBLY. another guy with a turbo dodge put a twin cam 16v neon head on his motor and pulle 498 lbf (only 330 hp) at just over...
just found out, rad is still good, alonw with one of the fenders.
best part is my friend is heading away to the military, and is leaving it here. so if it is just bolting on parts, then you know damn rights i'll be driving it soon after.
looks like i might be getting my post count up on...
friend found a GN for 3500 canadian.
problem is, needs new rad, rad support, feders, hood, bumper, grille, and door (front end accident, minor bend in frame right at the front).
question is, would it be worth buying.
