Paul, I had the same concerns as you and went with the 'shift kit' instructions from Transgo on which to use, since that was the kit I used. Yes, they are slightly different from the ATSG manual but everything works OK. Good luck on your build.

I started with nothing, bought the ATSG manual, got trans apart, realized I needed more info than ATSG had, bought Chris' 2004r manual, found lots of tips and procedures that made the rebuild happen. Trans works fine. IMO, yes, it's worth it.
