Buicks@Bates 2018 - Official Kickoff Thread

I will be there!
Are the SoCal guy's meeting at Home Depot in Lake Forest?

I’m finishing up on some wiring . I’m taking a bunch of wires out that I’m not using anymore . I’m thinking about bringing acouple sets of irons to possibly sell or raffle off . Also I’m considering bringing my generator and table and possibly porting a set there s long as I don’t have to many cold ones lol . Anyway this years Bates is going to be one for the record books and can’t wait to see everyone and everyone’s rides .

Keep in mind that Bates charges us for every "vendor" who is selling stuff there.
Vendors are by invitation only. However, if you happen to forget a few car parts in your trunk and leave that trunk open.

Chris is with us. Does that make it easier for him to bring stuff?

Chris knows the deal. Keep it low and it's cool. I'm not too worried about someone who has a couple used TB parts they want to unload. What we don't want is unwanted vendors crashing the party, trying to sell stuff.

Part of what Bates charges us for, is how many vendors we have selling stuff. They do check.
We absorb this cost to the invited vendors who support and make this a better show.

If you have any questions, feel free to call or PM me.

On a side note: My guys at Spoolfool Productions will be bringing nice and a few blem or slightly damaged bumper fillers to sell for cheep.
This is your chance to save some dough on shipping and fillers. Cash deals.

I hope we can get to 100+ Buicks im doing my part and bringing my Buicks thats 4 yes all 4 to get the count up
Should have a good size group leaving from lake forest

Well be leaving lake forest home depo at 7:30am

I am trying to get my new motor and trans in and ready for Bates. I have a V8 Corvair which a few guys asked me to bring. If everything works out I will have both at Bates.

I'm up for something like that! I'd also do a lot of private track rentals for the guys that don't always fit the rules or requirements of the NHRA. I think it would be great for the west coast to be more active with our cars and I remember the old days of racing at Speedworld with all of the Buick's and having Cal out to even do some tuning for people. I typically do 3-5 private rentals a year and they are awesome!! You/we have the track to ourselves, two fully prepped lanes, from 9am-2pm and you could literally hotlap and make 50 passes if you wanted to. It's truly the best way to go drag racing!

I'm in the same boat as Brent and even fewer people know who I am because I've been a behind the scenes person but now I'm making a go at producing and manufacturing as many cool & needed parts for the Turbo Buick's as I can.
