1-2 WOT shift

You found it out the only way you could have, you did it. You don't have a guess or opinion nor are you part of a consensus of people who voted and agreed about what will happen. You know what will happen. The truth is a vitally important commodity to have in this life and is worth obtaining at any price. Finding out the truth is never a waste of time or resources.

On a positive note I can drop the pan and valve body pretty much blind folded now.

Well I will have an answer for you hopefully by the weekend, spoke to my local converter guy he seemed to think a stator swap might help for $150.00 and a same day turn around it was hard to say no, I just hope its not to tight down low.......

Well that was a bust 6100 in 1-2 5500 on 2-3. TV sleeve and spring next?

I have a TV sleeve and plunger from another valve body are they the larger one that is required am I measuring the correct spot?

Thanks for the call today Dave.
I dropped the governor and inspected the seats for check balls they did not look bad. I did swap out the shaft to another I had there was a slight improvement shifts just below 6000 1-2 still at about 5500 2-3.
Thanks again for the call and the insight.

You wouldn't happen to have another gov. spring would you? A little stiffer one would affect the 1-2 more than the 2-3 & it might help you out.

Thanks cruiser I will give this a try I'm out of town until Wednesday I will try this and report back I was going to try a slightly heavier weight as well.

Doing this will lower your shift points at all throttle openings. If you like your current shift points at light and medium throttle, this will lower them.

Hmm I was under the impression altering the heavy weight would affect part throttle shifts and the lighter weight influenced the WOT shifts. My knowledge is limited though only what I have read mostly here.
Any insight is greatly appreciated at this point all I'm looking for is a 200 to 400 rpm on the 1-2 shift without drastically affecting 2-3 I can live with a slight drop at part throttle as long as it is not extreme or working the tranny to hard by doing so I can always press the go pedal harder.

I think I found the problem my buddy had a copy of the transgo instructions this seems to describe my symptoms.

The one on the left was in my valve body the one on the right was in my spare valve body stock as far as I can tell

I win! Preliminary testing both shifts at 5500 the light weight I had in there was 15.4 grams swapped to the stock 14.7 gram weight changed the TV limit spring and both shifts hit at 5500 [emoji2]

I'd have never thought it. I sure learned something today.
Nice find.
BTW what TransGo kit was that?

Another bonus I am seeing is it holds second gear longer on part throttle shifts which firms up the 2-3 shift which always something I had been kinda concerned about.

I may have to try one of those kits, didn't realize they put that much into them.
My old trans go kit had a couple of spring, drill bits & gaskets. I think it was just 200-4r HD.

Make sure to save and mark all your stock pieces people I have talked to and the transgo instructions say the BRF valve body does not need much.
