I'm in the process of building a new garage to house my brother's GN. He had dreams of building a nice garage next to his house someday. He purchased the land but did not get a chance to complete it. So I'm going to build it for him the way I think he would have liked it. It's nothing elaborate but what I can afford at the time. size will be 16' wide x 28' deep with 11' ceiling. It will have a BendPak HD-9 double park lift and Gladiator garageworks cabinets. Needing some ideas on the interior color and floor finish. I am thinking the walls will be light gray with gloss black on the lower 3' and a 1" red strip just above the black. The floor I am thinking of stainnig in a rust/copper color followed by clear epoxy with a little textured flakes.

Some pictures of other dream garages would be helpful to give me some ideas. I'll post pictures when it's all complete and the GN is inside.

Go to garagejournal.com and look around their forum.

It'll make you sick with envy at some of the Garage Mahol's and their contents that are shown with a quick archive search.

You can get tons of great info and inspiration there from building to finishing, retrofitting and improving too~!

I've posted some of my revamps and improvements there over the years and gotten great feedback and/or advice from the other participant's.

You'll like the place too.

Didn't know you were over at GJ as well.;)

There's a ton of info over there and I subscribe to a few. One of them is the 1930's garage restoration. Thomas (the owner of the garage) has done a remarkable job with the shop and if you dare to read it I'll warn you that's it will take you several days to get through it. That place has just about any info and it's not just the US, it's all over the world so you get a great idea of what people are doing with their shops.

tc isn't the only one who's here and everywhere!;)

Isn't that 30's place Amazing! I've been watching since the start.

Personally I like the simple functional garages that are packed to the rafters, of guys who need them to work in a bit more than the showrooms, but that's me.

I would go with black and white tiles on floor and 12' walls.

Very Nice, where did you purchase the Bendpak and was it offered in other colors ?

Got it from Workshop Depot in TN. Great service and great price. Blue is the standard Bendpak color but you can get red or black for un upcharge of about $110.00 I think it was. May have to wait for red or black but blue is in stock ready for free delivery.

Now to get the rest of those Gladiator cabinets assembled and hung on the walls. Then the old girl can have some company join her in her new home.

Looks nice. I prefer a lighter colored floor as I'm prone to dropping the small nuts and bolts and I'd like to be able to find them... When I build mine it'll be light grey...

Looks great!! Awesome thing you did for your brother !!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I could do the same . Thanks for sharing.

here's a pic of the garage that my mom's boyfriend is building.. 40 feet wide, 32 feet dee, 12 foot sidewalls with in floor heating.. the concrete will be bare and the walls will be white steel inside and out..
should have all the sheeting on tomorrow, then the tin starts.. hoping to be parking in it by the middle of the month.
then we can start the wiring and building things like the work bench and some cabinets to start out with..

the big door on the left is 12 wide and 10 tall- made specifically so his old workhorse John Deere 3020 can live indoors, but i keep thinking that a lift would work oh so perfectly over there... if only it was mine..

All done! And now she's got some company.

I'd put the truck on the lift and the Buick on the ground, unless you want to cover that Typhoon with Diapers! LOL!

Looks nice!
