Let me relate my first meeting with Lou.
I rolled up to his shop unannounced in the bone stock GN I just bought with 96K miles on it form the 2nd owner, and asked him if he could look it over and let me know if the $6K I spent was a good buy....
He grumbled at me....
He grumbled at the car...
He grumbled at me some more...
Basically told me what to keep an eye on and made a couple suggestions...then told me he had to get back to work...

If I was a Wa Wa...I coulds come on here and Wa'd about what a mean and hurtful man he was...
Since I'm a grown man....I respected his position and gradually earned his respect as a customer.....and within a short while I was a 100% Lou Loyalist.
I chose to learn from him and learn about him...not pick fights with him.
I've had one of the strongest running and most reliable GN's on the road as a result....and it just got a whole lot meaner with this new stroker motor I had him build.

These days he's as much a good friend as he is my builder, and he and I joust with our own style of humor without pissing down each others leg. Fun and games, man...we're all big boys....and if he needs to chew my ass for being stupid...he knows he can do it without me turning into a total girl about it.

If you don't want enemies....don't air your hurt feelings out on a public message board when you have absolutely no basis for them other than...he didn't say nice words in my ears when I called that one time....
You don't know what kinda day he was having when you called...

Good luck man...you really kicked a hornets nest and even have a gaggle of moderators giving you five across the eyes right now...
 
Like I said before I'm not hurt. I've been through a lot more tougher things through out life in general then that phone call or anyone on in this forum can even imagine. Believe me when I say my feelings are not hurt.

Words will never get a reaction from me the way a fist can, and even then I been through bigger obstacles.

This is my two for his. What's done is done.

It was my fault for making the call.

No, but it is your fault you got all pissy about the call. The OP asked about a qualified "machanic" in LA , not your whiney "he didn't treat me nicely enough" diatribe or any of the other slurs you spewed forth.

"My buddy one time spoke to a guy that was selling GN parts on Craigslist and with a little conversation he told my friend that he was parting out his engine cause Lou ser did not build his engine right. This guy used to work for Lou"

I see that Gutless SFI is from Bakersfield. He posts about a guy that "used to work for Lou"....
Wasn't there some flamer from Bakersfield, that we had issues with, that "worked" for Lou, turned out to be an idiot??

If anyone has a legit problem with my work, All it takes is a phone call & I will make it right. Buicks on steroids do have a tendency to occasionally fail. If these cars were made in heaven & never broke I would have nothing to do. If SFI cutlas wants to cool off & start over again I'm open to talking to him & getting past this. It doesn't serve me well to have someone walking around with a chip on his shoulder over something I may of said that is taken out of context.

All kidding aside, SFI Cutlass, Lou is good people, and so is all of the South Western Section of TB.com. Many of the responders in this thread are members of the South Western Section. We stick up for one another because no one else will. Lou is not only a TB.COM supporting vendor / supplier (Turbolou), he is also one of us. Lou takes care of us and our cars like each one of us is one of his own sheep. This is sort of like the ad currently running on TV that says "We all bundle". And you might want to re-consider your transmission builder to be. When I stated that he would take good care of you, that was said with tongue in cheek.
I feel confident that if you and the sheep monger would have gotten off to a better start, all would be well now.
I apologize for any remarks that I may have made on this thread that are over the top, I am partial to the TB.Com South Western Section and proud to be a TB.Com South Western Section member.
Good luck with the Cutlass. Sounds like you are off to a good start.

To SFI.. I would look to the trans section for builder info. I know A.C. has mixed recommendation since the name issue with the company, etc.

I wasn't expecting a reply Lou but I respect you more and I appreciate it.

Did not have anyone to turn too at the time and I was not asking for any hand outs either. Just needed help.

Sorry for such words that I posted didn't think it would get this controversial.

Uh...er...well...that's actually four words by my count....verified on one hand....didn't need a calculator...just added them a second time and yup....there are four of 'em there.
One could make a case for it being 4.5 words since there is an abreviated word in there...but we'll call it bygones...water under the bridge...:p
