How Many "Kool Guy" Parts Have You Bought?

Oh well hell I don't feel too bad now. My only kool guy part is a PTE front mount. And in my defense, I was going to buy the SLIC but the FMIC was on sale for less money and I already had the cooling system to support it.
Did you notice any performance improvements? How do you like having an FMIC so far?

Thanks

LOL it doesn't affect my coolant temps at all!!! It's still in the original box....

I DID sand and polish the pipes for the kool guy bling factor. They look pretty good on the shelf!

Oh man... What's the hold up? Its a fairly easy swap. Hardest part is removing the original one.

Thanks

The most important kool guy parts are the ones you can't necessarily see or are pretty much race only stuff. These include expensive rotating assembles in a block that was never meant to be over 400hp. Aftermarket ecu's like fast and bs3. Larger than 3" ex, lightweight racing rims, large fm intercoolers that take up the front of the car and weigh 40lbs. Any turbo over $1200. Any headers other than a stock replacement driver side. Kool or not the competition sees taillights almost every time and I have a lot of these parts on my cars. They serve their purpose in the right situations.

pretty much everything I have bought...... seeing how i only run high 11's ..... but I like them and I didn't break the bank..... now just got to learn to tune it all in.....

The first 2 years that I had it, I didn't have time to do anything to the car. Wife had a night job and worked a bunch of overtime and I had the kids most nights. Now I only want to take the nose apart once so I'm waiting until I can afford to paint the new front fillers and I also need to make the hard lines for the tranny cooler I decided to add while I was there (I am anti-rubber tranny hose). Everything I do snowballs into a huge ordeal. Oh the new dual fans are still on the shelf too so I'll need to mount/wire them up and I'm pretty anal about the wiring aspect too so that'll take forever. Probably need the dual fans for the front mount. Just the act of sanding and polishing the pipes a little at a time on lunch break took several months.

I know I'm a procrastinator, and I'll try to get motivated tomorrow.

LOL... Sounds like you've been busy. Are you sure that you have to pull the nose apart to install the FMIC? I was able to just slide mine up from the underside. Had to jack up the front first, but it slid up there easy. Disassembling the front end would cause me to procrastinate also.

Just bought a complete rear. Girdle cover, new Eaton posi and 30 spline axles. Bought an HR bar too. What the hell you only live once. Seemed Kool to me

its the trend to have a "more with less " car these days, but those cars dont stand a chance against the "cool guy parts done right" cars.

Is a $1000 carbon fiber driveshaft considered KOOOOL? Car didn't go a damn bit faster !!!! Yes it's in my GN in my avitar.

Every part i put on my car is a kool guy part....;) its what gives cars personality.... if i wanted to be plain... i would've gotten a civic

aaron

p.s. i still might get a civic....or maybe a corolla.... lol

The only thing I feel was a KOOL guy part in my entire build was the stroker kit. Since the forged kits were the same price and the only difference was a couple hundred to clearance, I said what the hell. I wanted reliability & longevity over everthing! Everything else not mentioned in my sig is stock. (throttle body, plenum, etc, etc). No KOOL chrome either.

Edit: I would say the DBB on the turbo was a Kool guy part too but I picked it up used along with the 3'DP and wastegate for $1200:D

I am the King of Cool Guy parts... see the signature (as it is always growing).

That reminds me... I just got new axles!

Pretty sure most of my stuff is cool guy parts i dint need the gauge pods or the hood mount pod or the no drill tac mount i dint need the 3 inch exhaust and down pipe or 4 inch intake stain less t top frams egr delete but even with my slight knock shes way faster then it was

JM.......Easy there. Grumpy is a stand up guy. Printed words on the internet do not show emotions. You have completely mis read what he was trying to say. Step back from your keyboard and take a breath.
When you posted a question about the GN1R heads about if they are better and so forth, you had already purchased them and when guys told you that you didn't need them you fought back and later admitted that you already had bought them. So, everyone has bought stuff that didn't make a bit of gain. It's all part of learning. Bantering back and forth just to try and make yourself look "funny" or what ever it is that you are trying to do, seems to me to be a bit sophomoric. I'm as big of a smart AZZ as anyone, but come on?....Really? Grumpy has no agenda then to try and help. Nothing he said has been wrong on what parts to buy or how to tune them. If you really want to show you are a better man, run a 9.60 on the same combination as he is using.
Now.........Back to Kool Guy Parts.
Me.........Just about everything under my hood. Didn't buy to many of them, but I did make them outta some semi-expensive material and tools.

I can't speak for everyone else but I know there are some others on board that are highly enthused with there GN, T-Type or what ever it may be. I'm not trying to be cool and buy all the fancy chrome stuff and the big upgrades but some of us may do it to because we take pride in our rides to look good and go fast while doing it to even though we might not have to. Different strokes for different folks. Not trying to step on toes but this is just my opinion. I say if you got the money to burn well f_ _ k it you only live once.

The only things I have bought for my current Turbo Buick are a cam sensor, alternator and Centerline Telstar wheels, so I guess the wheels are my "Kool Guy" purchase. I'm considering purchasing new speakers and a cd player soon. Before that though, I will probably have my valve covers, upper intake & plenum, turbo shield, up pipe, inlet pipe all powdercoated matching silver.
