euro one piece head lights

Here's a pic of the export taillamps that were offered on the Regal. Its a crappy pic but the outer sections are cast in amber instead of red. I wonder if you could duplicate them by using using one of those "make your own" taillamp lens kits?

hmmm those euro ones are cool, but I don't know how i feel about that orange. I might just go with the regular 82-83 set. What make your own tail light set?

Let me find a link for those kits. You make your mold and than use what ever color of plastic to cast your own lenses. I've seen it, I just cant remember the brand name or where I saw them.

Oooh I like those Euro Taillights. Did they make them in the 84-87 style? Is there a way to get them? I wondered why they didnt have them on the regal when the other T-Type or T Buick cars of that time (Lesabre, Electra, Skylark) had that option

According to my parts catalog 1985 was the last year for those export lights. And it was that 81-83 style complete with the old style Regal script. I never figured out why Buick didn't go with amber turn signals like they did on all of the other models of T-Types. I also have some front bumper park lamps listed for the export cars but I dont have a pic of them. I'm assuming they were also a shade of amber. Not quite as dark as the 84-87 park lamps. Whats weird is that amber park lamps were usually part of the sport or T-Type package on Buicks but they were standard on all 84-87 Regals. The export cars also used different sealed beams for the headlamps. Depending on what side of the road you drove on the filaments either pointed left or right.

So the last year for the export taillights w/amber corners was in 1985. I would like to know how/where to aquire the 84/85 style. Definitely would be different:)

Having two individual headlights allows you to take out the high beams and run 2 nice 4" size intake hoses to the twin turbos! cant do that with european pion headlights!

I think it looks OK... Kind of grows on ya. don't look like it'd be too hard to do.

not bad.

Here is what I did. Monte euro headlights & buckets grafted onto (cut up) Regal header. What I didn't realize before I started is that Cutlass/Monte fenders are straight(vertical) on the front edge where Regal fenders are angled back. I had just repainted the car and didn't want to cut the fresh fenders. I was unable to use the euro corner lights for this reason; that's why I have euro headlights with the original regal angled corner lights.
One would have to use, if possible, Cutlass fenders in order to do a tru euro front end. I have way too many hours into this front end with cutting and grafting to want to do it over. I havent even decided yet if I will keep this. I did it a couple years ago and haven't even had time to wire the headlights in or even adjust them--they are angled way down in the pic.
Also, dont bother with Monte headlights if you want to use the original Regal grill. Monte headlights are too wide making the fit very close. Go with Cutlass lights. I also modified the filler panels to fit the new angled header panel (original is straight across above lights, modified is angled out from corners to grille.

The cutty nose looks pretty good, but whstlr's car looks great-I like that a lot

lol you should start producing bolt on cutty front ends. I love your car whistler. I MUST have a cutty front end.

Many years ago I was going to do euro headlights in my old Monte Carlo SS. I was actually going to use the headlight assemblies from a mid 90's Dodge Dynasty. I mocked it up, but never actually installed them. A lot of my friends used that headlight assembly for their cars. Delta 88s, Mid 80s Caprice's, etc.

Fast forward to the GN you see in my sig below. I dont know about you guys, but there is just something sinister about the front end of a Buick Grand National.......especially the 86's :D So, H4 conversion housings, 10 gauge wire, 30 amp relay, and 120 watt bulbs in the factory low beam locations work just fine for me, and they piss everybody off heading towards me! Euro look would be cool, but I am not about to cut up my 300 plus dollar headlight bezels............................. to each their own!;)

As for an "updated" 2007 look........... I make my own clear cornering lights, as well as clear front bumper lenses. Cleans up the front end nicely IMO
