In these tough economic times, Craigslist is the root of all evil for the short of attention! I couldn't resist viewing and eventually buying this list gem; an '84 Toyota SR-5 extended cab 4x4.

The good;
-86 GN engine already installed, mated to the Toyota 5 speed manual through an adaptive alluminum bellhousing.
-It has tilt wheel
-33x12.50 tires
-Cool sunvisor over the windshield;)
-No visible holes in the block and there's no milkshake.
-Solid front axle.
-Looks complete minus intercooler.
-Traction won't be an issue.

The bad;
-It ran at some point once in the truck, but no longer.
-Mud treads in the rear are bald (this could be good...I guess).
-It was run with no intercooler (rubber 90 from turbo to TB).
-The installers welding and wiring skills weren't their forte.
-One more thing to take up the time, space and money I don't seem to have anymore:smile:

How do you put big pics up? I resized them to 800x600 but they're still using too much mem for the forum.

Sometimes you just have to go smaller than recomended untill it goes through. Most pics that I post have to be reduced to 15% of original size.

tiny pics

the roll of wire in the bed was extra:mad:
wire "repairs" like this are plentiful:eek:
It could be fun...

Yes, that's an engine oil cooler:eek:
You can barely see the bell housing there, oh-by the way the drivers side header is cracked!

it'd be fun done well, done 1/2 way, and you'll be chasing nightmares for months. It looks like the later scenerio. Also, a manual tranny for an LC2 would be fun, but the gearing in it would likely make it less than expected. Truck gearing is generally much higher esp 4x4s.
The reality is you wont know until you own it and sink money into it getting stuff redone and fixxed. Its a big risk IMO.

Cool...

Looks like it's rough but I think with alot of effort and some good used parts

from peeps here it could really be somthing neat. I'd be interested in knowing

what adaptor plate they used from trans to engine. Give it a good bath and

start over with the wiring!
Good luck with it!
Scott!
