I have a new head deck. The old one was stolen. The wires were cut, so I can't just plug in the metra connector and be done with it. I am unsure of which wires to connect to the radio harness.

Below are the wires I have coming from the head deck (8 total) and their description from the instructions

-Black (ground)
-Yellow wire 15 amp fuse (memory back up lead, connect directly to battery)
-Yellow wire 3 amp fuse (bus power lead????, connect directly to battery)
-Red wire (power lead, accessory 12 volt)
-Blue/White wire (amp turn on lead)
-Orange/White wire (Illumination lead)
-Blue wire (auto antenna lead)
-brown wire (phone mute lead)

OK, so those are the wires from the stereo (8 total). I think they go as follows (correct me if I am wrong) (the first color being the wire described as above, the second color, being the color wire in the factory harness)

-Black to black
-yellow 15 amp to orange
-yellow 3 amp to yellow
-red to ????
-blue/white to amp turn on
-orange/white to grey
-blue to pink
-brown to nowhere (just tape it off?)

Could anyone tell me if this sounds correct, and where to wire the red power wire to? Also, indicate if you are sure or just pretty sure (I am trying not to fry my new headdeck somehow)

Thanks alot,
turbosix.

The red wire on aftermarket head units is generally the ign. wire. This will be connected to the yellow wire in the car.

Both yellow wires will get connected to the orange(generally there is only one batt. wire--but-you have them both listed as constant power)

Good luck:cool:
