windshield problem...help

so my stupid windshield sounds like its going to break or fall out every time I hit a bump. I'm sure I'm not the first person to have this problem since my buddy's Monte SS and El Camino both do it too. Is there any way to fix this or is it another inevitable evil, like replacing powermasters?

I thought I read in a Kirban newsletter about greasing some rubber thing on the firewall, but I can't remember exactly what was said. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

They are talking about the rubber bumper, contacts the center of the underside of the hood near the windshield..

Put a dab of a water-proof lube on the brace at top/middle of cowl.
