Wide Band O2 Sensor

I have the fast system on my car, the car started running very rich
and dumping black smoke all of a sudden, I tried to change the
ve fuel settings and not much difference. I then took it out of
closed loop and adjusted the tables to lean it out a bit it and it
got better. I check the dash sensor's and UEGOS (v) is in red,
and reads 0.88 is that normal? I've checked the coil pack, wires
vacuum lines etc. all are fine. I need some direction on this please
Is there something else I should be checking to diagnose this
problem??

EGO?

As I recall, and by looking at some data logs, the UEGO should be 2.5v or there abouts.
If the data description goes red, that indicates it's out of range and something is wrong.

The fat running would indicate to me the O2 sensor has "gone south".
