just a preference. many like to gut the cat to fool visual inspections..
if you have the stock downpipe, i have a test pipe from a hooker exhaust system ill sell you for $25 shipped "if" your in the lower 48

its in great shape, only had it on the car for a few hundered miles
theres a little carbon on the inside.
kinda hard to tell but i put a ruler there its about 18.5" long

the end is just over 2 1/2". it will slip over the stock dp.
the other end is flanged to mate with the y-pipe

Cap ?? no cap on a test pipe, onlt on dump pipes
