today on the way to work i noticed my oil pressure gauge was pegged well past the 80 psi mark on my vdo gauge. i let off the gas and it came down some but was jittery. pulled over and let it sit and watched it flop around some eventually settling a little higher than it normally would but still very jittery. i know i have pressure because i still have the idiot light (used a tee connector) which was off and the engine wasnt making any weird sounds.
this weekend i was installing a new radiator and i removed the oil filter adapter cuz i dont have an external oil cooler yet. i had the lower rad hose off and i know i was near the oil press senders; the lower rad hose actually sits up against the brass tee. but after the work and subsequent test drives to get the water and tranny levels set the gauge still worked. wasnt until this morning that it started spazzing out.
is the sender crapping out or the wire maybe touching something?
