What is the difference between the series 2 and series 3 engines? I just picked up a L67 series 3 from a 2004 grand prix gtp. Hoping to use it for a project I have going with a rear wheel drive conversion with a 5 speed. Any advice or help will be appreciated.

From the research I did a while back.
Series 3
N/a engines went to aluminum upper intake
Heads- intake port improvements and intake valves are 1.83 vs 1.80 on series 2. the exhaust valve is also slightly larger but this was done on some of the later series 2 also
Series 3 all drive by wire no throttle cable
Series 3 has a returnless fuel injection system (no return line)
Connecting rods were improved on 2004 and later supercharged 2005 and later n/a
And all the series 3 supercharged got the gen 5 blower

Series 3 n/a code is l26 supercharged is l32

That's what i remember from the research i did hope it helps

Ok so sounds like a better set up (same but different). I wonder if hp ratings were different?
