What terminal on the alternator is the "excite wire" to go on? There are 4 male posts on the alternator to choose from. And also, is the brown with white tracer the excite wire?

Can some one run out and look on their no disassembled GN or T-Type please?

Thanks in advance.

wire

On my factory 87GN harness, the only wire goes to the middle of the three small connectors, or the 2nd from the pass. side. Hope that helps...

2nd one in from pass. side is correct, might be labeled L as well.

Solid brown wire on both my '87 cars.

thanks a lot. I will make it so. I will update with good news later. Or that of a "CAR-B-Q"

Should have the CS-144 plug end on it to fit into the alternator?

Should read +12 on the wire with the key on with a meter, putting a ground on the brown wire should light the volts lamp in the dash.

These are tests are done with the brown wire NOT connected to the alternator for testing.
