what do you trust more, scanmaster or a knock gauge.i got both and they never seem to tell you the same. my scanmaster was just showing 15 degrees knock and my knock gauge was only lit up to the fist amber light. also, when i got 15 degrees knock o2s were showing 000 .you would think that the knock gauge would be pinned to red, no?

The readings aren't going to match, one is displaying degrees of retard the ecm has calculated and the other is displaying flitered knock count information right from the knock sensor. I've had my Directscan on a friends car also running SM and the knock retard numbers were always a little different for whatever thats worth. On my car there seems to be a fairly close correlation between knock amount and what you'd expect to see in knock gauge lights. I'm running a caspers unit. I'd continue to keep a close eye on both.
