I’m wanting to do a turbo 3.8 swap into my 72 nova. I have about $1000 to spend so I’m guessing probably a hot air? I can possibly come up with a little more or work a trade for guns plus cash? Not sure what the intetcooled engines are going for these days?

I’m in quakertown PA 18951 and don’t have a truck at the moment so if you could deliver we would work that into the price. The more complete the better. Not looking for a bare block. Thanks!

Please don’t waste your time doing a hot air swap. 86-87 swaps usually go for around 3000 for everything. You would just need a battery.

While I would love to do an 86-87 swap it’s more than twice my budget. I could save a while longer or really thin out my gun collection to come up with the extra. It’s something to think about for sure. I don’t get out and shoot much anymore these days anyway.

On a side note I don’t mind the hot airs at all. I’ve had both and the 87 was much, much faster without even lifting a valve cover than the 84, I still enjoyed it. In fact I wish I had either of those cars back. :(

No bursted bubble. I’ve seen them turn up from time to time locally, whenever I don’t have money of course. Now, I know for that money I’m not touching a complete lc2. Not happening. I’ve seen 109 long blocks going in that area from time to time though. Then I also see them asking $4000 for them sometimes (LONG/SHORT BLOCKS!!). Hot airs I see all over the place. Including complete cars for as low as $3500 sometimes. But I think there’s even a complete engine in the classifieds here for $1200. The deals are out there but I might have to keep my eyes peeled for them and it might take some time.

If I’m getting an intercooled engine I’m not expecting a complete engine at that price. That I know is a reality. I do have several thousand dollars worth of firearms that I’m looking at thinning the herd with so if I do that I think I can come up with around $3000 pretty easily.

As far as the lsx swap, it’s out of the question. I know they’re cheap power and all but my personal preference is not with them. It’s never going to happen. This nova will either be a big block (which I’ve always wanted to do and never have), or a turbo 3.8. I’m leaning towards the turbo as I’ve had so much fun with them in the past.

I just missed out on my buddy selling his 87 with 100k on it and a broken timing gear for $4000. That was a complete car. I’m still kicking myself for that one...

I have a hot air block that only has 50k on her and ran perfect when pulled if interested. Also have acouple 109 blocks
