Using a TTA as a driver.

im not kocking champion .. Owner is an outstanding guy .. i run champion heads, but you do know there are better porters n polishers ?

Sure there are better porter and polishers. But Champion has the formula for the TTA heads. They know what works. I am sure they have been burned enough on these heads to get it right. They install bigger valves, hardened seats and use bronze guides...Do other porters include this with their port work? No

You dont have to go crazy porting the heads. Their limit is low low 130mph.

After owning tta#299 I finally washed it today ... after getting fp installed an scanmaster ... I got the weld the tail pipes back on an time for insurance an tags !

If I can remember it was stage II block, 76gtq three bolt, 95lbs inj, 218-218 cam, 1.7 harland sharp rockers all the other stuff. I believe it is listed under the tta archieves. That run was at 25psi if I remember corrctly. And yes it was lifting heads. I gave up with TTA, put her back stock. Got a T-type been working on just about finished. Here are a few pictures.

Bought my first TTA in 2002 with 1,110 miles on it. It was absolutely perfect. I took it to cruise nights and some local shows. I was always so careful with it to make sure the weather was perfect before I drove it or I knew I had a the ideal place to park it at a show etc. Never really got to enjoy the car for what it was because I was always spending so much time protecting it and caring for it. Sold it a few years later after putting a couple thousand miles on it.

I then went out and bought my second TTA. This one had 24k miles on it. I drive it nearly every day and take it anywhere....whether out for a coffee or into the office. It goes out rain or shine and has almost 40k on it now. I just change the oil, put in the 93 octane gas, and drive it like a regular car. Usually get a thumbs up a couple of times a week......and I get a weird stare from some people when they see me out in January. :)

I guarantee mine can go 130+ with the TTA head. It had stock gears and 28" tall radial tires with a CPT-66 turbo with the small hot side when it went 10.3 @ 128.x. It's got a lot more power now than it did then. (Car now has 3.55 gears and a precision billet 6765 with big hot side)

Now, will it do that consistently without breaking something? I don't know. I don't take my car to the track very often, but I drive it on the street a lot and drive it to the track. It's got stock crank, rods, caps, but has ARP studs on the mains and ARP rod and head bolts. Still has the stock throttle body and even has stock rocker arms and the stock valves.

I think it could make a faster glory pass if I trailered it to the track and make a pass before the intake/intercooler got heat soaked, but the track is over an hour drive away, so everything is usually as hot as it will get.

It would also probably quite a bit quicker with a lighter driver and non-DOT tires. I weigh about 240.

ye sir ... just got an offer on my stock tta if it falls through im taking it if not .. ill spectate an see if anyone can help me out with tta#1397
