Upgraded turbo question

When upgrading to a larger turbo, does it use the stock turbo-to-intake adapter? The stock one is rather small on the turbo side (1.5" ID), didn't know if this got upgraded with the larger turbos or if they used the stock piece stilll.

If you use a hotair style turbo housing....

The turbo to intake adapter stays the same.

You can get ported ones from gbodyparts here

http://www.gbodyparts.com then click on buick on the categories bar. Then performance, and the turbos folder and the ported adapter will be in there.

If you are using a 86/7 style turbo this is what we did for my brothers car.





My dad is a machinist and had a lot of work in these pieces. They came out great and work good on the car too.

on my new 6262 the adapter was welded on then the inside was all smoothed out for a gradual expansion. Can probably post some pics in a couple days as It is mocked up on the stand in order to fab a couple brackets.

my ported adapter from g body works great and remember the good thing about a seperate adapter piece is that if it is a seperate piece adding or removing alky is simple, but thats just my two cents.
