Turbo Size?

How are turbos measured? Mine is a bone stock 87 T-3 from what I can tell. (the compressor side has A/R .60 stamped in it, and A/R .63 on the turbine side) I assume that's Air Research/Garrett, but I see on this web that some turbo's are much bigger than this, but still say they have a .63 housing? Confused in Tehachapi. Thanks, Ron

A/R is a calculation of area over the radius.

Turbo Size

WOW! Thats pretty much what I was looking for. Almost too much,LOL, guess I have a lot of home work to do. I sure wish I were young again! Turboing is the way to go!! All these years of trying to extract the horsepower that was there all along! Damn! Thanks again, Ron
