How is this done? Easy, or better left to a rebuilder to take apart internals? Mine are bad and in need of replacement.

Personally I would leave this up to a competent rebuilder like John Craig. However, if you feel the desire it is not hard to take one apart. The oil seals are actaully look like small compression rings. Theey are steel and are somwhat sringy. The only bad part is the balancing of the assembly when putting it back together. Mine never worked right so I sent to John and it came back after 175.00 looking brand new and with new mounting hardware. Kind of hard to beat the turn around and the price. Again I would recommend sending it out but it can be done.
