Turbo Break-in period

So I just got my new combo together over the weekend... which let me tell you was an experience. It's amazing what you learn about your car when you tear it apart.

Anyway, so I got the new turbo, intercooler, downpipe and converter installed and wanted to ask opinions on break-in period. I took it out for it's maiden run last night and it pulls like a monster, I never got on it too much but I can feel it wanting to go.

So, I am not going to try to dial in the wastegate to the full boost potential until I break the turbo in. But I did notice that it was very hot during start up and it was getting oil since it was eager to leak a little. Once I know the turbo is "broke-in" I will begin turning the boost up (I am guessing that it is set at about 14-16# right now. But it was never taken that high last night.

How long do I need to break this new turbo or combo in?

If you have a leak get it fixed. No break in needed on the turbo.

Pay attention to tuning that is where the devil is with these cars, in the details.
