Trouble Turning Ignition Key

I have a problem with the ignition key not turning properly. Whenever the steering wheel is locked, I have to fiddle with the key to get it to turn and unlock the steering wheel. Can anyone tell me what I can do to fix this problem? Can I lubricate the key hole or is it a more serious problem. I tried with an older original key and a newer duplicate key, and same issue although it's somewhat easier with the newer duplicate key. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Some times just pull or push on the wheel while trying to turn the key helps. But it sounds like the lock may need to be changed. Jon Hanson

I have found that when the steering wheel is completely locked, the key is difficult to turn. Hold the wheel as you're turning the key and turn the wheel slightly so that the tension from the lock is removed.
