What would be the most cost effecient way of towing a GN mainly to the track and sometimes other places, A tow dolly or a full trailler?

Trailer.

If you break something in the rear axle a dolly is useless.

Not to mention in an emergency, if you have an open deck trailer, you can use it as a *hoist*, for raising the car.

You have to drop the driveshaft to dolly a GN forward. If you tow it backward hope your UCA bushing isn't cooked cause the car will sway all over the road.

A lightweight Car hauler with electric brakes and a class IV hitch is best . Then you can use a lighter duty, more efficient tow vehicle than if you had a heavy trailer, no brakes or a non weight distributing hitch.

I used to tow cross country with a 100 HP AMC Eagle back when the speed limit was 55 mph. Wouldn't do it today, because there are so many better cheap tow vehicles out there and I'd get run over.
