torque converter

just recently purchased my 85 grand national. wanted to know of a good torque converter to use. was recommended to use nonlock up but what about size

Not enough information given to give you an answer. I'm not sure about hot air cars but on the I/C cars if the car is stock or almost stock then it's hard to beat a stock d-5. If anything a 2800 lock-up. PTC is a good one and fairly reasonable More than that and you are giving up usable rpm. A non-locking converter will not work with a stock trans.
