Top Engine Cleaner Failure - Please Help

It was the MAF sensor!!!

I changes the O2 sensor, all the plugs, and it still would'nt run.

This failed MAF sensor was just a coincidence. The car ran prior to the top engine cleaning, which I did NOT run past the MAF sensor.

I know many posts never provide a conclusion, I wanted to be sure to do that with mine.

Thanks to all those who helped. Without the help on this forum, I would hesitant to try many of the things that make these cars great.

Thanks!
Matt

I kind of figured it was the maf, but I was probably just coincidence you ran that cleaner and you maf went bad! Oh well

Glad its fixed.

When my MAF took a dump...I almost did not get the car home.

Glad you found the issue. So what did you do for a MAF?

Good question. Not all reman'ed MAF's are created equal. Cardone's are supposedly decent. Make sure you get the full spectrum reading when going WOT. Should go to 255 @ WOT.

not even cardones are descent, well at least on my 86, mine was asking me for an ac delco one, thats it!

I ended up witha remanufactured piece from Auto Zone for $45.00 with core.

Thoughts on this are appreciated. Seems to run well.

Tap on MAF very lightly, if you notice ANY differance in idle, even slight, then your MAF is suspect. These things are sensitive and old. Sort of like a lot of members on this board:biggrin:
