Times with 6262

So what's the ideal stall for a 6262 with 210/215 cam and ported irons?
Right now I have a 2800 stall 9" nlu. It lags bad.
It was perfect for the stock turbo.
Around 5100 stall and keep it under 5600 assuming you are running it all in. If you don't have it all in it will be okay beyond that rpm but you'd need to have the valvetrain setup for it and it wont have the cylinder fill it does at 5100.

Wow, That high!!? Is that for a 90% street car? What difference would a 3400 stall make?
I have forged pistons and crank bored .020 over if that's what you mean by valvetrain.

Your current stall is 4900-5000rpm at your current engine output. The problem is your converter design. It's not enough with light load to spool it. The high $ converters do both.

I'd like to see what v6power does with the edge converter and 6262. I run a 3000 ( foot brakes to 2800 rpm and 5300 rpm flash) behind my 260 ci ford v6 and it was an instant spool. Never could get traction on my nto5r's but went 1.61 60' letting out 20-30' out. Shifting at 6000rpm but it was done making power at 5400 rpm with the tight 63 housing. I never utilized that setup on my car and the tune was not the best but I think I could have squeezed 108 mph all in the 8th. Converter slip top of 2nd was 700rpm. If you can spin the motor to 6000rpm it would increase effiency drastically. I have a log that shows at 5500 rpm actual converter slip was 1250 rpm, and then at 5900 rpm 750 this is in 2nd gear. This is measured at the transmission output shaft.

The difference in converter slip could also be related to the motor is making less power at 6000 rpm vs 5500.

Yrs ago I had a combo that would loose 75ft of torque in 400 rpm. I corrected the shifts and the car picked up big time .

Good point. The engine load drops from 1.65 at 5300 rpm to 1.62 at 6000 rpm so it's still humping. Converter slip is pink line that shows linear decrease, red rpm, tp is teal, and load is yellow. Scale on left is relevant to load.

Today I went a best of 7.3@96.25 mph. 1.79 60ft time. Boost was at 28psi. This was with pump gas/Alky on stock long block. Bison 6262 turbo, PTS 3200 9/11 stall L/U, converter was unlocked. 80#, TT Alky Chip, Walbro 340, THDP. Nothing super special at all...

It was kinda hot, I believe it could have gone faster with cooler weather and having the converter locked on all passes. Passes ranged from 7.3-7.5 I was tuning for mph, not ET's, but I'm happy with those too.

Power logger will be here next week. I can't wait, as I really need to see some data, then go from there.

I really would like to hit the 1/4 mile soon. How much can I expect to pick up mph wise in the 1/4 with the 6262?

Im headed to the track tomorrow. Should be awesome weather. Low 50's. Got the boost set at 22 psi. 20 degrees timing for a baseline.

Will report back and see how it goes..

Ran 10.72@124 weighting 3840lbs in the second round of THS down here in BG. Made it three rounds. 28 psi. Bison and Dusty are correct. Converter needs to be tighter.

Your converter will likely be too loose to pick up what you should. You should be at 120+ if you went 96.25 in the eighth. Id work on that 60'. You can shave about .3 off your quarter time right there and at least .25 off your eighth.

Finally got to the track with the Edge converter to compare it to the PTS 9/11, using the 6262 jb.

Running Edge tc:
1.592 (60')
4.445 (330')
6.892 (1/8 et)
101.21 (1/8 mph)
3600 (launch rpm @ 0 mph)
10.6 (launch boost @ 0 mph)
24.0* (launch timing)
21* (top end timing)
5400-5050 (1-2 shift)
5650-5250 (2-3 shift)
10.6 (target af)
23-24* boost

Running PTS 9/11 tc:
1.520
4.347
6.795
101.31
3750
12.0
23
21
5550-5100
5650-5150
10.8
26-27

Two things I noticed were the shift points and I only ran .1 slower with 3# less boost with the Edge. Both runs were done using 93 + alky + 2 gals. 110 and both runs were in November (2012 and 2014).
Combo in sig.

Very nice! Do you have a trans brake? Highest I can foot brake mine is 2800rpm with my crappy brakes.

Thanks. I really like the Edge on the street...much better response than the PTS. No trans brake, just a two-step.

Just putting my updated time in this thread

6.9 1/8th et
99 mph
1.9 60' on that run (spun)
20psi using a 50 shot for spool
