Throttle valve question

I have an original TV cable coming soon, and until then I am using a universal TV cable. Here is my question:

Should the TV cable start opening the throttle valve and cause line pressure and line pressure to increase at the very beginning of pushing the accelerator pedal?
Another way of saying it is, should there be any slack in the TV cable?

No slack. You need to transmission to react immediately.

Where are you getting the original TV cable from ?

A good used one from one of the members on this board.

The guy who put the transmission in left about an inch slack, so the valve was not opening until WOT. Felt like I was always in second or third gear.
