This one for instance, all it took was a message to request that the seller provide me a picture of himself in front of the item with something that would show a current date. Naturally no response because he can't provide these because he stole all his auction info from here.

another glaring indicator is that this is the individuals first time selling anything on ebay. These scams are getting pretty easy to spot... still thought I like to watch them just to see if anybody falls for it so I can email them.

I didnt read through your whole thread but what if they just happen to have the same item and was easier to borrow the pic from ongoing auction.....
Just stating such cause half the time my cam is out of whack and I do this when I ebay...

just stating what I do sometimes when ebaying but then I dont have 0 feedback either

Yes but even then I would think if you could post a item for sale on ebay then you would have some capability to get a picture with the item to a potential buyer. Regardless, I personally wouldn't risk it.

i sold on ebay a couple times, i have a PA mixer and my camera was messed up so i took a picture from the yamaha website- 3 people asked for this picture and that picture- but i just ignored it because the bidding was already higher than i though it would be- i explained the condition- and the guy was very happy with it.

i get fake emails from ebay all the time saying "need to update your account" or "your account is suspended". send emails that you think are fake to spoof@ebay.com.
