Temp sensor location

Hi,
Need some help. I am trying to figure out what kind of sensor I have on the intake of the 87T I just bought.

I thought the idiot light sensor, and the fan temp controller both mounted going aft on either side of T/B. Those are fine.

In the front water jacket, drivers side there is a sensor that has been broken off. Single wire plug hanging there. Sensor mounts going down into the intake. What is that thing.

Thanks,
John

a single wire sensor in the cooling jacket would have to be
the high temp warning light or cooling fan temp switch. the
engine coolant temp sensor used by the computer is a 2
wire sensor. just looked on my car. the 2 sensors that go
horizontal into the intake are the high temp warning light
[passenger side] and engine coolant temp sensor[driver side]
the sensor mounted vertically above the ect sensor[driver side]
is the cooling fan temp switch.

Hey thanks,

Marines185 or anyone, can you verify that the wire for the sensor going horizontal into the water jacket on drivers side is a single wire connector, Green/yellow. Cant find it in my service manuals.

the sensor going hoizontal on the drivers side is the ect sensor
which has a yellow and black wire going to it. the wire that is
green with a yellow stripe is the cooling fan temp switch.
it should be vertical to the ect sensor. it could be possible
that someone switched the positions of the sensors which
really doesn't matter.

Engine Cooling Fan Switch-Temperature Switch is not the single wire next to the throbody by the driver side ?
