Sweet vids this week.. and I mean all of them.

The supercars was filmed in Holland. Sorry, don't speak Dutch. Still a cool vid. Must be nice to take all those cars out and play.


As for the vid with the Audi Quattro... YIKES. that's a lot to translate. Here are the highlights.

"OK, the first try! Making the last preparations and one last skeptical look. "

Uwe Bleck - "Naturally, all the logistics are there, but the outlook doesn't seem so good."

"The tires spin thru (the snow) and the car loses traction. He must put on the brakes. What's the problem?"

Their is too much snow clogging up the tread of the tires.

So, they take some snow off the ramp so the tires can get through.

Second try. But this time is slightly beyond the halfway point. But the car still can't make it on these tires. So they are going to try a different tire. 7mm spikes. If this doesn't work, then it won't work at all.

The last try. One more time they put all the cameras in positions. The helicopter goes in the air and they wait for the right moment.


YES! YES! YES! This time they did it. 80% incline. 88 meter climb. 80 years after the first attempt.

Excitement among all the crew that they could make this happen.

"Incredible! Simply incredible!" "In theory, I knew we needed to do it, but in real life it was very challenging!"

The Audi made it up there, but how does it come back down? Now they have to hook the car up to a winch and lower the car down. Driving the car down would probably not be a good idea.

I was wondering the same thing cause when I watched it at points while it's going up the cable gets pulled pretty tight it appears.

Nothing was said about that cable, but I think that's what it was for. I'm sure that'd be some crazy footage if that Audi fell backwards and off the ramp.

The cable is used mainly to lower the car back down
Also a back-up in case the car gets sideways, so the cable can pull it straight again ...
