stupid pcv question...

I finally bought the right brand pcv (ac delco). When i checked the old one i couldnt remember how far in its supposed to go. So i left it at just with the bottom nipplein the whole and the rest exposed. Is this right, or should it go all the way in to the lip around at the other end. I wanna make sure cuz im puting the new one in now. any help would be great thanx!

Push it down as far as it will go. It'll get to the point where it can't go in any further.

Just put one end of hose on pcv,rub some silicone or oil around gasket and the sides of the valve and push. PuSH like you've never pushed before. BUT,don't faint when you get it.

Just don't push too hard otherwise the pcv grommet will end up in the engine valley and you won't get it back out w/o pulling the intake.

It goes down just slightly more than half way and seats on the largest diameter ridge on the valve.

You'll know when it hits bottom. Just push until the lip on the valve hits the gasket.
