Stock fuel sending unit??

Are these stock fuel sending units really 290$ Are they cheaper anywhere else.My fuel gauge does not work well and im pretty sure its the sending unit.Are there any cheaper sending units out there for the 87 Buick Turbo Regal??The reason I am asking is that I am getting a walbro 340 Hot wire installed next thursday and it would be great to do both at the same time.
