Steering Box Replacement

Well, I just got done finishing up this job, let me say, it wasn't anywhere near as easy as I would have thought. So, anyone looking to do this, here's what I found

1.) Remove the intercooler and intercooler bracket, with these out of the way, you can get to the feed line underneath better

2.) Remove the feed lines top and bottom from where they run too on the car, once the old box is off, use a 18mm open end wrench to get them off of the steering box.

3.) You must remove the pittman arm from the gear box and the center link, it's basically impossible to get it lined back up if you don't

All in all, took me about 8 hours total, huge difference in the slop of the steering. I got the box as a refurb online for $135 shipped, cheaper than the local place would rebuild my core for.

NAPA sells a replacement high ratio (2.5 turns lock to lock) steering box for something like $135+ a $20 or so core.
