Starting a motor that's been sitting a while?

We're talking at least a few years.

Should I do anything else besides disconnecting the ECM wire? Drain old gas, RMI-25, etc...?

How about spraying some PB Blaster or WD-40 in through the spark plug holes?

TIA!

Change the oil
completely drain all old fuel
get an oil pump priming tool and prelube the engine
If you prelube the engine you do not need to do the wd40 thing, it will just smoke you out.
Should change the coolant also

I'd bet many fuel system components are garbage. Pump, injectors, FPR, etc.

Thanks for the replies! :)

I'll change the oil, plugs, use some RMI-25, and prime the pump.

The FP/injectors/regulator will all be r&r'd. I just want to fire it up and see how it runs.

I'm still worried about the pistons being frozen  within the cylinders being that it sat for such a long period of time.

Priming the oil pump will not help a lubricate a dry cylinder, remove the plugs and squirt something in there. Might want to also see if you can turn the motor by hand(after priming), while all the plugs are out to be sure the motor isn't frozen and free things up a bit before cranking.
