OK, this is getting OLD. If I shut the car off after driving more than 5 miles, it won't start again unless I jump start it. I have checked the battery and it will show 11.85vdc but the starter solenoid won't make a sound. I installed a new starter since the original wasn't always starting on the first try, and now it always starts if the solenoid clicks, but the car still won't start when hot and it is driving me nuts. Please let me know what to check and btw it is an '89 TTA but I don't think it is TTA or F-Body related. Thanks

You replaced the solenoid - right?

Next step is to load test the battery. Any place that sells them can check that in 3 seconds.

Naturally check the enging ground from the battery, and the actual connections at the battery.

Last time this happened to me it was the starter...:(

it is prolly TTA related....you need a heat shield between the starter and the exhaust.....if you go to the TTA board, you'll find this is a common problem..we had a local one with the same problem
