Speedometer inaccurate

Some background... I replaced the speedometer because the old broke between the magnet and needle.

Now with the new Speedo, the mph is sometimes 5-10mph off from What the scanmaster is saying.

I'm assuming I have a cable problem now, is that correct? I have the upper and lower cable separated but I'm not sure the length of the upper cable or where to buy a replacement?

The VSS that tells the scanmaster the speed is driven off the same cable.
