Some "clinking" from my u-joints????

Is just a bit of that clinking noise ok when shifting from park to reverse or drive?

I figure mine is doing it due to how these car's idle a bit high?????

That could be the play in the rear end. You need to verify by trying to move the driveshaft, while it is in park, that the play is in the u-joint(s).

But they all have some play, correct? It's not bad. Sone one at work, a Ford guy, said something today to me when I put my Buick in gear. I just figure it's him being his friendly For loving self.
