Rolling When In Park.

Ok I Just installed a new trans with new converter new tv cable my shift cable was kind of messed up so a friend of mine took his off his monte carlo ss and to me it looks exactly the same only thing was the boot on the end was metal instead of plastic so i put that one on..well now when i put my car in park it will still roll can someone tell me what is causing this to happen

It's either the wrong cable or out of adjustment. Take the cable off and put it in park to see if the park pawl is engaging.
