Rocker Torque

The Service manual is wrong. 22-25 lbft.

30lbft has a good chance of breaking the bolts. Like 50-50.

Hmm, I never compared the 2 manuals I have, but this photo copied barely legible assembly diagram from Kenne-Bell has 27ft#s on it, so I guess anywhere in the 2 ranges ought to do ya and to be safe set them at 25. I'm guessing I must have set mine to 27 but I'm really not sure which manual I went by when I did mine, probably to hard to read KB one since its much smaller then the Buick service manual....

I broke two of the bolts at 30# (the first I though was a bad bolt, the second I knew something was up), then looked up the std. torque for an M8-1.25 and one source said 23 lbft.

crap I just torqued mine to 30 ,I felt funny putting that much on those bolts but I guess you trust the chilton too much sometimes,I did make sure they did not say inch lbs though:)
