RJC intercooler, MAF PRO, VDO tach

I have a new, never installed RJC front mount intercooler(325) with polished pipes $750 + shipping.
Also, a MAF PRO with splice in harness and chip(setup for stock, they will reprogram for $50) $250.
And a VDO 3" tach with internal shift light and Caspers wiring adapter $65.

What does the Casper's harness simplify with the Tach?

Something with the vdo tach and the coil pack set up on GN's, it doesn't work without it.
