This is just a reminder that no racing will take place on Tuesday, April 27th at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Illinois, due to track preparation and entry parking accomodations for the 14th annual NHRA AAA Midwest Nationals. It happens every year but many people still forget that NHRA does not permit events at a host track within the week of a National Event.

Immediately following the completion of the NHRA AAA Midwest Nationals this weekend, GIR will host a full week of four events in six days. The Street Car Shootout Series, Big St, Charles Motorsports Street Bike Shootout Series, High School Eliminator and open Test-N-Tune program will resume on Tuesday, May 4th. The first session of the FREE Gateway International Raceway Drag Racing School will be conducted Wednesday, May 5th, and the season's first Slick Tire Test-N-Tune will happen on Thursday, May 6th. The week will conclude with the fourth event in GIR's NHRA Championship Bracket Racing Series on Saturday, May 8th. From Friday, April 30th, through Saturday, May 8th, GIR will actually be running eight of nine days due to the traditional NHRA Professional Test Session which will start on Monday, May 3rd.

As always, more information can be found at Gateway Raceway.com and St. Louis Drag Racing.com.
