Rear brake wheel cylinder play

Hey, hope somebody can help me out. My rear brakes started pouring fluid out, and had the rear cylinder sitting there in pieces. Got everything apart and buttoned back up, and it seems the cylinder is loose and has some play. I'm guessing that since it is only that stupid clip that holds it in place, that maybe the backing plate has elongated in the "key" that it slides into. Anybody have any bright ideas, seen this happen, etc...? I'm thinking that if this is in fact that case, that I may have to get a new backng plate or weld the hole or something. Any perspective will be appreciated, because in the backyard mechanic experiance of me, brother, and dear old dad, none of us have seen this before.

Bingo!!

NAPA part # 25851 Wheel cyl. bracket kit
Had this happen to my son in my car on the staging line. Wheel cyl pistons missed the shoes and wheel cyl flew apart because the cyl was sloppy.
This kit is a stamped piece of sheet metal that goes over the cyl. and has a tab hanging down that you run a screw through into the backing plate. Holding the cyl. firm against the plate.
This was many years ago, hope the part is still available. I believe you will need 2 kits. Best of luck.
