Questions about 200-4R direct steels

Check out the pics. Can I reuse these steels or are they trash? The first 3 steels that go into the direct drum have a couple gaps where there are no teeth. Why is that and do those have to be oriented a certain way
when they are put back in the drum? Should the gaps be lined up or staggered?

Those are trash. Especially in the direct. The ones with tabs missing are likely a different thickness to get the clearance dialed in. Either way don't use them
