I need some advice with replacing the oil seal on the exhaust side of the turbo. The turbo actually has low miles but the car has sat so long it's out of warrenty. I'm not sure exactly why it smokes when it doesn't have any play in the shaft. I'm going to use the directions off of gnttype.org for disassembly but was looking for some feedback from anyone that has done a rebuild.
Should I do this myself or send it in for $250?

Disregard the previous. I just snapped the shaft trying to take it apart. I guess I will have to send it in. The shaft looks well worn and the brass bushings don't look to healthy either. I guess when I filled that block full of coolant it had some more side effects.
