Power steering pump running backwards?

Hey everyone, Just recently I got my turbo buick swap into my camaro running. I've been chasing down a few small leaks and other minor issues, but this one's got me confused and a bit ammused.

It seems my Powersteering pump (a rebuilt replacement from Napa) is pumping the fluid backwards. on first start-up, i noticed no steering assist, and I just assummed it needed to be properly bled out. After many attempts to bleed out the system, I realized, the pressure line (when disconnected) has vacuum on it!! after draining the fluid, the reservoir has air blowing out from the pump's feed line! I'm using the Champion Racing Heads AC delete accessory bracket, so wrong belt routing is not an option.

I guess whoever rebuilt the pump did something wrong. It all just seems too weird.

Anyone else run into this before?

They gave you the wrong pump. The pump on our cars turns in the opposite direction from most motors.
